OCRW Membership Fee & Benefits
OCRW’s purpose is to promote excellence in romance fiction, to help writers exchange their knowledge and establish career goals, and to support and encourage our members through all levels of their careers.
Membership is a calendar year membership, running from January to December annually.
Membership fees are currently set at $60 per year. If you have questions about fees, please email the President at president@ocromwriters.org.
Your membership includes:
- Online meetings at a $10 rate (non-members pay $15) featuring a variety of speakers and topics from industry professionals.
- Reduced rate for our annual Celebration of Romance meeting.
Monthly newsletter featuring our members’ new book releases and special announcements.
- Access to OCRW’s general networking forum, Morning Juice, and private Facebook Group.
- Opportunity to participate in contests, writing sprints, critique groups, Book in a Year and other special events.
- Listing in our chapter member online directory.
- Member-only rates on classes and workshops.
- Member-only access to special functions and general resources.
We have two classes of membership:
General membership is open to all persons seriously pursuing a romance fiction writing career. For purposes of membership, “romance fiction” is defined to include (a) the commonly known genre of romance, including any sub-genre within the romance genre, and (b) any fiction that includes a romantic subplot.
Associate membership is open to all other individuals who support the OCRW and its purposes but who do not meet the requirements for General membership such as editors, agents, graphic designers, audio book voice actors, and writers who do not write romance fiction but are involved in the writing profession.
